INTRODUCTION by Raylee Hart

Pro Hart was an artist; a great one. He captured a part of Australia that was dear to his heart and he captured in a way that grabbed people. People loved his work and he was popular right from his first exhibition in 1962.

He was also a husband, a father, a friend , a lover and a passionate man. He painted at every opportunity but he also collected art, cars and motorbikes. He invented all manner of things and taught himself to play music. He was a champion air pistol shooter and he became so well-respected in the body building world that he was asked to judge national competitions.

It was a busy life. As his popularity grew he was asked to exhibit here in Australia and at many overseas exhibitions. There were constant demands on his time. He travelled overseas alot and we met many famous people; royalty, world leaders and VIPs. And through it all Pro never lost the personality or the character that I fell in love with all those years ago. He was humble at heart. He loved his home, his family and his home town of Broken Hill. Fame never changed him; he just did what he had to do to make it all work.
